DESCRIPTION:Gateway City Church and the Kamloops Vineyard \nJESUS’ journey to the cross was a powerful and raw public demonstration of GOD’S LOVE and victory over the destructive powers of SIN and DEATH at work in this world. \nThe Good Friday and Stations of the Cross event being held at Riverside Park on April 15th\, draws us together as God’s precious family. It presents us with a welcoming and public devotion that commemorates our Saviour’s journey to the cross and HIS last days on Earth as a man. \nBeginning with JESUS’ temptation in the garden\, the stations focus our attention on specific events of HIS journey to the cross. Scriptures will be read aloud at each station\, a complementary narrative will summarize the attributes of things learned and a moment of prayer and silence will invite the Spirit of God to draw us even deeper into a revelation of HIS LOVE in our hearts. \nFollowing a time of shared communion and public worship\, everyone gathered will be welcomed to enjoy a free brunch (pancakes and fruit\, maybe even some breakfast sausages). \nThis public and outdoor event affords us a great opportunity to invite and welcome friends and family\, neighbours and strangers alike. Won’t you consider bringing someone with you.  LIKEWISE\, this event presents us with an opportunity to be served and to serve others.\nWould you like to join the small group of volunteers who are helping in this event?\nWe’re looking for people to help us with the following; \n\nSetup and teardown of tables\, chairs\, mini-tents\, cooking and serving areas\, music and sound equipment\, and station displays.\nHave you got a truck and/or truck and trailer that you would like to use in our efforts to move things around? We’re estimating that four trucks and their drivers will be needed for the event.\nCooking and Serving.\nHosts and Greeters.\nStations of the Cross Leaders and Narrators.\nMinistry teams to take to the streets to connect with people and invite them to the Riverside celebration and free brunch.\nMaybe you would like to give yourself to praying for this event. Do you wonder how you might truly live your life as God created you to live it? \nSpiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God’s transforming love and into changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Reflective of valued practices and ancient pathways\, Monastic traditions welcomed the creation of a “rule of life” with the singular purpose to create space for ongoing encounter with God. \nIn her book and study guide\, Sacred Rhythms\, Ruth Haley Barton presents us with well- thought-out offerings of wisdom and practical exercises—seven core disciplines that we can meaningfully weave into our everyday life.
